HI, WHAT SATNAV IS GOOD WHEN TOWING A CARAVAN.
I'VE GOT AN OLD GARMIN AND IT TRIED TO TAKE US DOWN A LANE, LUCKY WE NOTICED JUST IN TIME.
IS THERE A SATNAV TO BUY ESPECIALLY FOR TOWING.

Shhhhh! No need to shout. 
Your best bet might be a model (or map) designed for truck drivers.
TomTom sell a couple of dedicated "Truck" models the TomTom PRO 7100 TRUCK and PRO7150 TRUCK with larger screen, based on the Go1000 platform. You can find them here, , but they don't come very cheap

You might be able to find the older TT 7000 (based on the Go720 hardware too.
There also used to be a "Truck" map you could buy on SD card which (with the right software version) you could use on other TomTom models, but I haven't seen that for a while. This reseller used to do them.

there are many manufactureers which have application for larger vehicles have a look at pronav garmin and tomtom are all make units ive used as andy has said go for one of the truck ones if you have an iphone or android phone copilot make an application and renault trucks have a badged version for iphone that is cheeper than the official copilot version

I have a largish motorhome and now tow my car behind when I need to visit an area with narrow roads. I have put off buying a truck/caravan/motorhome satnav because of the cost premium. My (Navigon) unit gives me a choice of Car or Lorry and I choose the Lorry if travelling in a new area.
