And you may even get the chance to try their latest models, IF Garmin re-open the US market for them again. As zebsogo says, they are very nice units (and you do have the keyboard layout options now) - one of the things I REALLY hope is that Garmin doesn't replace Navigon's routing with their own (awful) one !! Otherwise, I'll have to go on the hunt again - maybe ending up with a TomTom (I might bid for one from DennisN's windscreen cluster of TT models - he can't really handle them all with both hands and mind on the steering wheel, can he?) _________________ David

Oh no - my heart sank when I read of the takeover. I was an avid Garmin user before I changed to Navigon Europe on my iphone 4, and it looks and runs beautifully on there with the PGPSW camera app running perfectly in the background. Database and map updates are free and frequent. Please don't mess with it Garmin... |

Eh? I don't bother with stuff like steering wheels and hands and minds - I leave that technical stuff up to the TomToms while I watch telly on my iPad. Many are the lovely little streams we've visited! _________________ Dennis

In my experience (with a 4350 MAX), apart from the difficulties of adding your own POIs, some of its pronunciation is really the only thing I can find against the unit.
However, when it tells you to "turn left towards Naff All" (Knaphill, near Woking), at least it gives you a laugh whilst on a boring business journey! _________________ Drive carefully; the Government needs all the Taxpayers it can get. |
