Any news yet on whether it will be possible to extend or adjust the length of "silence" before each verbal alert announcement, so I can hear all of the alert when played to my car stereo system via Bluetooth ??

Dunno about this, but may I suggest you try using a Pre-warning in the Sound warnings - that's what I do to make sure I get all the verbal announcement (I use Siren). _________________ Dennis

You have two TomTom Apps. I'm not sure if it's possible to differentiate between them using the URL scheme so the best bet would be to remove the US map until you need it and at that point, stop the auto-launch for the duration of your trip so you can select the correct app manually. _________________ Darren Griffin

When I tap the logo at the top right and choose 'Terminate' from the dialog that pops up, CamerAlert exits to Springboard. However, double-tapping the Home button shows it's still running.
I only just bought it, so I can't comment on how it behaves under iOS 4, but the docs and the wording of the dialog imply it will exit completely.
Is this a bug, or is it actually supposed to work this way and I've just misunderstood the docs? (At the very least, does doing this stop it using the GPS, as that's the reason for wanting to terminate )

This is a common misconception and something I have suggested to Apple on numerous occasions. The 'double-tap home' task manager shows all running apps as well as all recently open apps. There is no way to distinguish between those that are present as 'shortcuts' and those that are currently running.
However, terminating the app using the icon on the top right DOES close the app fully - you can test this yourself in one of 2 ways: 1) tap the icon again and you will get the splash screen or 2) look at the top right of the screen and you will see that the location services arrow is gone (unless you have other GPS app's running in the background).
There is one issue coming soon though... Apple are idiots and have stopped us from using that method to make sure the app is fully closed so the upcoming update (which was rejected a couple of weeks ago by the control-freaks at Apple for this among other reasons) won't have this feature anymore. The only way to fully quit the app is to either force-close it using the task manager (double-tap home, press & hold icon, click the '-' button) or to turn off tracking (cross hairs at bottom left) and press the home button (it only runs in background mode if GPS is in use).
