Go to the first post in this thread and download the set of files applicable to your iPhone type (either 3G/GS or iPhone4) and use the icons and ogg (audio) files, these all need putting in the Europe or UK map folder, this is in addition to the ov2 speed camera files the download also contains a mapsettings.cfg file which need to go in the correct folder as shown in the first post in this thread.
If you have an old download (pre V1,7) then grab a new one as the icons have been changed to cater for changes TomTom have made to their software - Mike |

Hello,
Is it complicated or even possible to set some custom locations with custom alert sounds on TomTom iphone app? For instance, proximity alert on restaurant or gas station?
Thanks! |

It is possible to get POI alerts with the iPhone app but you will need a mapsettings.cfg file taken from a PND that was set up with the same POI files in the same way as described in the original post in this thread, this file is then sent to the iPhone using DiskAid.
There is no way to set up POI alerts on the TomTom iPhone app - Mike |

I have downloaded the relevant files from the beginning of this post.
I have read through this complete post.
I have decided to use the CameraAlert app @59p as life is too short! _________________ TT Go 720 (T)

|
|
Hi,
I used the 1.7 zip file and just added the latest ov2 speed cameras and I get the little speed icons on the road, the speech works fine but i have no big speed icons on the left of my screen on my iphone 3gs.
I have checked the size in irfan view and the small are 22x22 and the large are 44x44?
I am puzzled as to what is stopping the large icons not showing up.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thats down to TomTom, with the v1,7 release they have disabled the flashing warning icon top left, to be honest on the 3G/ 3GS it worked very well, on the iPhone4 it looked very poor indeed, they took the easy option, which was to remove the capability ratrher than fix the software.
Please keep in mind that we are using an unofficial "hack" to use speed camera warnings from third party POI files so there is little scope for complaint against the software provider - Mike |

Hi Mike,
When I had the original speed cams in from Tomtom on version 1.7 it had the top left speed warning.
I take it that it's gone now due to me deleting the original tomtom cameras then?
How come it works for some people yet not on my iPhone?
Seems strange.

Any one using V1,7 won't get the warning symbol top left, versions earlier than 1,7 did get the warning top left, the screen shots on the first page of this thread were taken using the V1,5 app - Mike |

Hi, the download files on page 1 seem to be corupted and just cause my laptop to "hang". Anyone else got this problem?
Please could someone PM me the 1.7 iPhone 4 files?
Thanks,

There is nothing wrong with either download from the first page of this thread, you are aware it needs to be unzipped to produce the file set? - Mike |

Hi please excuse me as I'm new to this, however I have just downloaded the latest database. Does that mean I have to rename all of the .bmp files to .png again, and every time I update the database?
Cheers

Dave, Use the file pack from the zip file download on page one of this thread, this contains the renamed icons and ogg audio files along with the mapsettings.cfg file.
Each update you apply to the database simply replace the ov2 files in your map folder on the iPhone, you don't need to mess around with the icons or any other files for updates - Mike |
