The comment about failing after half an hour may be correct, but I can't swear to it as I have only noticed Cameralert has closed when observing a camera but receiving no warning. I am on the road a lot and both Cameralert and googlenav may run upwards of 8 hours per day. |

BTW - I had a feeling at one stage that Cameralert was closing when I had been stopped for a period (say 5 minutes or more) but also cannot swear to that fact. |

|
|
Hi Guys,
Noticed today, and on the weekend, that the icons for Googlenav and Cameralert swapped their positions on the task bar for a split second fairly frequently, before swapping back to their previous positions. They were second and third from the left, with Google being second and Cameralert, third. Are they fighting each other? |

Pillow fight!!!
AFAIK this is happening on some newer Android versions. I saw it on 2.3.3 I think, but no longer on 2.3.4 _________________ Lutz

The reason for my post is was really to question whether this had anything to do with Cameralert closing on it's own. This still is happening - do you intend to resolve this issue? |

We will. But it will take longer without any sort of crashlogs or without us witnessing it ourself. As much info as possible will help too. Is it reproducible? What exact steps are taken to reproduce it? What other apps are running in background etc? What's your free memory like...

It's not visibly crashing so there are no crash logs. Is it reproducible - yes - just open Googlenav and Cameralert at the same time and keep Googlenav in the foreground. Apps running are Oovoo, Norton NAV, aFirewall (spelling is correct), SPB Shell 3D, Battery Notifier Pro 3D, Gentle Alarm, Phone weaver. Mem never less than 120mb available. |

have you tried it with the other app's disabled to see if it still does it? then try them all one by one. It may be a side-effect of another issue?

OK, got a log file (an app called process monitor widget) which will store the Logcat to a file when requested.
Long drive Monday. Cameralert started first, then started googlenav. Cameralert left in background. Around an hour in I noticed that the cameralert icon was no longer in the notification bar.
Used process monitor widget to grab the current Logcat, unfortunately its backwards with newest item at the top:

I think the key bit here is:
Quote: | I/08:18:26.707 ActivityManager( 106)

Found this info, but cannot find out what the "hidden #16" relates to.

Maybe this will help?? |

Can anyone with the issue please "star" the problem on the code.google.com site?
This should raise the issue priority with google. I have linked back to this thread there too. |

Wonder what happens when CamerAlert is in the foreground and Google Nav in the background at the 30 minute mark. Would it still kill the CamerAlert service? _________________ Lutz
