Q: How do I reset the i3?
(Warning: this may remove all personal data such as Favourites etc)
A: With the unit switched off, hold down the Left/Back button and the scroll wheel then press the power button. This will show a confirmation screen and you can reset the unit from here.

(Thanks Ash10)

The more proper way to reset the i3 is to hold down both the left/back button and the scroll wheel, and then turn the unit on.

You will be prompted for confirmation, as this will reset/erase all your POI (including speed cameras), settings, favourites, and recently found lists.

Mmmm ? I reset mine yesterday by the 3 button method. I resonded 'yes'.
It then asked me the setup questions, BUT it still responds to the radar POIs, so on mine they did not go.

I've just tried to reset my i3 having failed to load some new POIs. I can see the confirmation screen appear but it is quickly obliterated by the map update screen. Once I accept the map update screen the reset screen freezes and I cannot do anything else with the unit. I've tried to reinstall the operating system but that does not work either - the software updater cannot communicate with the i3. Am I stuffed???

I cant get my i2 to respond to the computer in anyway since i uploaded the POI's.

My GPS freezes at Garmin i2 loading screen, the only way i can get anywhere is by pulling out the card first then waiting till it asks me to input it again.

Sometiems it will freeze after this and sometimes it will goto the Where To? & view Map option. However if i click on any of those options it will freeze.

I download a number of different POI catgories cant remember which ones precisely. However when i used the older POiloader from Garmin(not the beta one) it said 33000 poi's uploaded, then it has done this since! At least i think it said 33k's worth!

I have tried resetting the unit using the clicking all three buttons technique and although it does reset it i have to keep the card out of the garmin or it will freeze when selecting the country!

Please pelase help my gf is sweating me BIG 8O

I've tried this method, but am just getting a flashing screen when holding down all 3 buttons as described. Is it toast?
