Hi
I have just purchased the Garmin 1490t and am very happy with it. One thing I have noticed is that the speed limit symbol( bottom right of screen )is incorrect on some roads. Is there a way of changing this or is this a map issue?

If the device is miss reporting the speed limit then its down to inaccurate data within the map, I am not aware of a way to change this on the device, are you running the latest map? - Mike |

Hi mikealder
Actually I registered yesterday and there is a map update waiting so I will give it a go. Just thought that there was a way to manually change it but did think it may be hard coded.

While it doesn't help your existing map, you can report road speed changes directly to Navteq here: http://mapreporter.navteq.com
It might take a while to eventually end up in the map data itself but at least you'll have done your bit!
