Recieved today from Teleatlas:
Quote: | Thanks! We were able to use your input to improve our maps. This update will go out in our next release of our map database. This report is now closed.
Tele Atlas supplies maps to the companies that make devices or applications, not directly to the people who use them. We update the map we supply so these companies can incorporate the map update in their own systems. When this process is complete, your change will be made available to you. It may be possible to purchase an updated map; please contact your device manufacturer or application provider for further information.
Thanks again for your willingness to help keep Tele Atlas maps up-to-date and accurate!
Please do not reply as this is an automated email.

Whats so unusual is that it was submitted 22 December 2008 and it concerned major road changes, roads removed and new buildings including Marks and Spencers store built on previous road route completed in 2003,
Not only that the insight page showing the map and reference to the change doesnt show the change, I cant even buy an update to see because Im running ttn7 on a PDA.
Hows that for response ,I suppose they could blame xmas shutdown. _________________ Moto G5s Plus, Sygic 17.4.8 |

There has been a spate of posts on this in the last few weeks here. Almost as if TeleAtlas (or TomTom as it is now known) has found an old mailbox full of reports! _________________ Darren Griffin |

Only one Darren, this was the third time i reported it, a quick lokk on Goggle Earth highlites the problem, in fact your google hybrid map still shows it suberbly with Shahespeare street and Dead Lane (now non existant) going straight thru the M&S store ref: 52.773733 -1.207026 plus a road across non access pedestrian area with seats on Biggin street, no excuse whatsoever. _________________ Moto G5s Plus, Sygic 17.4.8 |

Recieved another 5 emails today acknowledging changes, 4 are for same major road changes and for for simple road spelling mistake all reorted early 2007 noteing changes on 2011 map issue, not much good to me now due to using ttn7 on PDA. _________________ Moto G5s Plus, Sygic 17.4.8 |

Is that wishfull thinking Dennis. personally I am at the end of the road with TomTom anyway due to their foresight in dropping PDA support. _________________ Moto G5s Plus, Sygic 17.4.8 |

I'll see if I can dig up a contact at TomTom Maps (formerly known as Tele Atlas) for comment on this. It's truly bizarre that they are even bothering to acknowledge submissions after so much time has passed.
It would have been better to say nothing at all! _________________ Darren Griffin |

Interestingly the major roadworks change ones i submitted were completed in 2003, also how long does it take to appear on Teleatlas own insight map none of mine are on. _________________ Moto G5s Plus, Sygic 17.4.8 |

The copyright message at the bottom of the mapinsight map is dated 2008. If the maps that are being used are 3 years old then they won't help anyone to submit updates.
The map does not include the changes which their own emails tell me that they have completed.
Perhaps Darren could also ask his contact if mapinsight could consider using an up to date map? _________________ Paul |

Did not not check map date , but perhaps like yourself would reasonably expect Teleatlas/Tomtom would at least use a recent map on thier own site, or are we expecting too much. _________________ Moto G5s Plus, Sygic 17.4.8 |

Funny - Another thread on the site mentions that the new Hindhead Tunnel is on TT map 870 just released, but the tunnel will not open until July. But look on our site map (based on TeleAtlas?) and the only indication is in OSM - try Satellite view and there aren't any signs of a hole being dug at either end. Then try using TomTom's Route Planner on their website and that one doesn't have the tunnel. Google Maps has nothing, but Streetview shows approach roads under construction at both ends. _________________ Dennis
