Does anyone have the same problem or a solution for starting tomtom from the today screen?
On my ipaq 2210 it is so hit and miss.
Ie it usually doesn't work. I either have to go into the today screen setup and come out, or use the setup wizard in the programs folder.
I did try adding a shortcut, but that disappeared after using once!
Any suggestions would be welcome. As otherwise I do like this software. |

Do you have CheckPOInt installed as well?
If so, configure it so that Tomtom starts when CheckPOInt starts and then assign a hardware button to start CheckPOInt.
When I'm on the way to the car I know that pressing the assigned button gets Tomtom ready even when the PPC is switched off at the time. |

Could you please share how you have done this as I have a button assigned to launch checkPOInt and ttn3 at he same time which works OK when the PPC is already on.. but if I press it with it off it turns the PPC on and I get the message "No maps found please install and activate an original tomtom navigator3 map first"
cheers

Well I don't know about button assignments, but like you I found TT unreliable so I downloaded and application to Soft reset my 2210 from the Start menu. It always works nicely after that, although I agree a pain.
However I have recently add the registry entires in this thread
http://pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=9862&highlight=autoconnect
suggested by Fuego. E.g.
Key is
HKey_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Widcomm/BtConfig/AutoConnect
There should be some sub-keys there with numbers 0005, 0011, 0014 for example in my case, which are for the BT services. Within there, there is a DWORD Value BtBrowserEnabled with a value of 0.
Now as long as I start the BT radio, TT starts every time without fail and it doesn't ask for the pairing short cut, it just connect.
Another benefit is that if you don't want to connect to your GPS but want to plan a route in TT, you don't have to hit cancel three times at the BT pairing shortcut before it gives up try to connect to your GPS.
Could be worth a go!! _________________ Ipaq 2210
