A while ago the issue of using SatSync on Linux computers was raised.

I recently revisited this, and there is some good news if you can use an
SD card to transfer files to the Desktop of your Linux box.

You need either Ubuntu 10.10 or Ubuntu 11.04, with the latest version of
the Windows Compatibility layer wine (wine-1.3.19) with .NET 3.5
installed.

Install SatSync, and use Tools, File Converter. Conversion of .map to
.gpx works fine, and .gpx to .map. For example, files plotted and
exported as .gpx from Where's the path? can be converted to .map files,
copied to the SD card, and then read on the Active 10.

The direct USB connection is not supported in wine.
