|
|
Home has started to download the latest Navcore for my device. I dont want to load this navcore because of an introduced bug when using it with traffic.
I current use an old version which work perfectly, i think I clicked the tick to download the updated Navcore by accident I have stopped the download but when ever i connect my 520 to home the Navcore is grayed out and ticked meaning it keeps on downloading the navcore.
Can I stop home for downloading by removing the partial download?
if yes where does Home store this file. I have removed everything in TT/home. _________________ TT520 running App 8.351 & map UK&I v845.26345

Also previously discussed on PGPSW here...
Home Version 2.8.1.2218 Released (+ forced update issues)
Have a look at my post which is the last on page one as it summarises the work-round described on TTForums.com and also gives some links to the previous versions of Home that you may need. |

1. Uninstall TT Home V2.8, and reinstall TT Home V 2.7 available here:
http://download.tomtom.com/sweet/app...6_2056_win.exe
2. Once installed, do not run V2.7, ie, uncheck the 'Run Home' tick box when installation
completes, and close it.
3. Using Windows Explorer, navigate to:C:\Program Files\TomTom HOME 2\xul and find
the application.ini file.
4. Edit the file in Notepad, and amend the the line which reads 'Version=2.X.X.XXXX'
(matching the old version you have just installed), modify the number to read "2.8.3.2499" and re-save the file. (Note, depending on your version of Windows, you may need to modify the properties of the file to allow edits and save the changes).
5. This will fool the system into thinking that V2.8 is installed and prevent it updating automatically.
6. You can now launch TT Home and then update your GO using V2.7 as normal and uncheck the Navcore updates.
This will work on the current version of HOME 2 if it tries to update past version 2.8.3.2499 just replace with the latest version number
Hope this helps |
