|
|
I keep getting notices from TomTom that up until 19 April I can get 6 map updates for the price of 4 which seems worth doing as I have just had the last map of my current subscription. How do I do this? TomTom say that "Add Maps" in Home will produce a pop-up but nothing appears (I am using the latest version of Home) and TomTom Support simply seem to keep saying to use Home. |

I'm assuming you have the latest v865 map? In which case Home may see you as uptodate and not needing to upgrade. I suspect you would need to wait for v870 to be issued before you could purchase the subscription. By then the offer for 6 maps will have ended!! _________________ Mike R [aka Wyvern46]

I have emails just like that and when I click the arrow it fires up Home and asks me to connect and login. I haven't done that, but I see at the bottom of the Home screen, there is a banner advertising the update service with an arrow to click to go for it. If you have that, see what that arrow does for you (although it wouldn't surprise me if it led you back in circles again).
If you get nowhere, ring TomTom (phone number in my signature) on Monday to ask them how you can do it - tell them their advice to use Home isn't working for you. If you are lucky enough to get somebody who knows what they are doing, they'll walk you through it. _________________ Dennis

Ok, to test it, I clicked the banner at bottom of Home screen, connected etc and this is where I got....
Note that the only one it will let me extend is my existing subscription, which is UK&ROI, I did try Europe and it didn't want to know. For UK/ROI, it offered me a year plus six months, for £19.80 if I remember correctly. _________________ Dennis

Well I had a nice theory - uptodate map- so TT does not offer the update. Then you had to go and ruin it by finding out the reality. _________________ Mike R [aka Wyvern46]

Thanks for the screenshot.
I get exactly that screen from the offer button in the email, the website when I log into my account, and when I click on the banner in Home. However, my screen does not show the pop-up so there is no way of buying anything.
I am not alone as several people on the official TomTom forums have the same issue. |

Ironic, isn't it? - I don't want the map update service for some of my devices! The one which I'd happily get 18 months for still has a few months of the existing one year service left! _________________ Dennis

TomTom support's answer seems to be that it works for them when they plug a go (different model) into a computer at their end! |

What happens if you don't click on the banner but click on the 'add maps, icons, voices etc', then the 'addmaps' ? _________________ Mike R [aka Wyvern46]
