The windscreen mount for my TT 750 has developed a fault. When you try to mount the TT on the bracket it does not click on to it. It appears that the release button is not returning to the proper position and is sticking. I can make it do so by pulling the clip down. Is this a common problem and if so what is the best way to cure it? Thanks in anticipation.

Not heard of this problem before.

Do you feel up to taking it apart?
IIRC you'll need a small Torx driver for the screws (can be bought from a phone repair shop or eBay). Too late to go out to the car to check tonight though!

Might all become clear when you have it in bits.

Thanks for the reply Andy. The button feels stiff when you press it and I have toyed with the idea of a squirt of WD40. You are correct that it has two small torx screws on the back. As it is still under the original 12 months warranty I am not sure whether to take it apart or risk the hassle of sending back to the supplier, who will probably insist on the TT as well as the mount going back.

Quite easy to take to bits:

Look at the rear of the mount and you will see two Torx head screws (size T6) remove the two screws:

Using your thumb nails seperate the front face from the mount, it doesn't take much force but is a little bit fiddly:

Thanks for the reply mikealder. It does not seem too difficult to do judging by your pics. All I need to do now is track down a T6 torx driver so that I can see where the catch is sticking.

Maplins or Halfords both sell the T6 drivers - Mike

I swapped the business end of a Go950 mount onto the ball from a Go720 mount for my home-made dashboard mount, and it only took five minutes.

For the Go720:
