Just didn't want you religiously starting the utility app every time when it wasn't necessary! _________________ Darren Griffin |

Don't think the app is capable of running in a multitasking environment anyway ! So I was well wasting my time _________________ IB...

Have you been tinkering with the voices?
1. Twice yesterday I had an upcoming camera warning repeated - it gave the warning twice. Then I had it three times today. I must emphasise that every other warning was correct (and there were a lot more of them). It is perhaps a thought that I was below the speed of each camera at the time and may have slowed down enough to de-register the camera, for it to be warned again. But I don't think the time between warnings was long enough for that - the second warning followed straight after the first.
2. Twice yesterday and twice today I had warnings broken up - I use Female spoken warnings, preceded by Siren pre-warning. What I got was "Siren, Fixed Speed camera, Forty [pause, pause, I thought it had given up] miles per hour". I had this with two different speed fixed cameras and two different speed Redlight cameras. Again, every other warning was correct (and there were many).
3. I thought the Variable speed warning had been changed - "Fixed camera ahead, variable speed", with the "variable speed" bit a a noticeably lower volume - I was tempted to think it was more of a loud whisper.
I have not had any of the above issues with previous versions of CamerAlert. _________________ Dennis

no changes in that compartment. Go find someone else to blame :D
It might be interesting to try this on an empty stomach (ie rebooted phone). Perchance it's a case of memorium fulleritits. _________________ Lutz

I can't believe the auto censor didn't pick up on that!
My feeling is temporary glitch. I have recently rebooted a few times (because I'm often having trouble with satellite acquisition which only seems to be solved by rebooting). I only have one app running - CamerAlert. In foreground. Have phone calls and texts from time to time and usually try to double tap home button and clear them off regularly, so memory full of bosoms (chance would be a fine thing, but is a dim and distant figment of my Alzheimers!) doesn't seem a likely candidate. However, I guess it's a glitch and certainly nothing to make me get uptight. I'll do a reboot now and see if another case comes up sometime. _________________ Dennis

Going back to old version.

Please let us know if that made any difference. We're not aware of any code changes in the touch screen handling between the two versions. |
All working fine now, seems like it was something to do with my jailbeak and some system files being updated for IOS 4.3 which needed a tweak.

Hi
Does anyone know if I'm missing something or does the CamerAlert app need a tweak.
The new 1.2.6 is great when I want to navigate somewhere, Start the Cameralert and it starts my TomTom, Brilliant.
But the problem is when I just want to start the Cameralert app to update the database, I have to wait until it starts the TomTom and then go back to the camera app.
Is there a way to delay the Tomtom Start or stop it so I can do an update.
Or is this something for the next version?
Thanks |

you don't have to wait. Double click the home button and go back to CamerAlert at any time. _________________ Lutz

Ta
A bit quicker
I don't know if it would be possible to program, say 5 second pop up with something like
"Do you wish to cancel Navigation start"
to save starting up navigation if you are not going to use it, then if you press nothing then it starts the navigation.
Just a suggestion , may not be possible to do |

Finally joined the decent Smartphone world and got rid of the WM6.5 with ancient TT7.
Looking forward to trying out IQ Routes, HD Traffic and the Camera App tomorrow around the M60 and M6 ;-) _________________ Samsung S22 Android, Google Maps & Camera Alert |

Spot of bother here - i haven't run the app since the update and now it won't start ...it just gets to the initial map screen and closes!
is anybody having trouble starting the app since updating to iOS 4.3.1 or is my JB getting in the way?
Thanks. _________________ iPhone 12 Pro

Would you mind connecting your iDevice to iTunes and see if there is a crash report?
You can also try to uninstall and re-install the app. It will say "buy" but then tell you that it's free as you bought it already. _________________ Lutz

Hi, thanks for the response.
I've already tried the Uninstall\Reinstall route, no joy.
I'm now connected to iTunes - where will I find the crash report? _________________ iPhone 12 Pro
