Why does Camera Alert MPH differ by up to 5MPH (slower) than my actual accurate MPH |

Are you sure the cars speedo is accurate, I wouldn't trust it compared to a GPS speed reading assuming your GPS has a good signal it will always outperform a car speedo in terms of accuracy - Mike |

Your actual accurate MPH is inaccurate.
CamerAlert is calculating based on satellite locations accurate to a few yards, measuring time over distance.
Your actual accurate MPH is simply some mechanical thingy which is required BY LAW to never ever under-read and is allowed to be up to 10% over speed. _________________ Dennis

... so all of the car makers set their cheepo speedos to read around 5% too fast on average, so as to be in the middle of the legal window.
Unless you drive police car with a calibrated speedo, trust the sat-nav or GPs to be far more accurate. |
