I have been just installed CamerAlert, updated the database, linked my account to pocketgps, took the car for a drive, and couldn't get a GPS fix!

Got home, took the phone into the garden, Google maps got a GPS fix within 5 secs, RAC traffic plus got a GPS fix within 10 secs, CamerAlert couldn't get a fix after 10 minutes. I have tried the app with and without the 'Use Network Location' .

Any ideas on what may be the problem...?

What phone do you have? Have you tried turning on "use network location" in the advanced settings?

The main one though, have you tried driving with it?

Yes, I tried driving and nothing, thought I would give the phone (Samsung Galaxy Spica i5700) a chance by giving a clear view of the sky in the garden whilst stationary. I tried with and without 'use network location' and still no joy. I use Google Navigation and RAC Traffic Plus a lot and they both work great - WTF!

a-ha. the spica has major issues with GPS... we're working on it!
