Morning all, first post, didn't realise there was a whole 'Satnav' community out there?
I have a Nuvi 765T, i'm only just discuvering there's a who loada stuff you can add/create etc.
What i really like to do is create a route on Google Maps and then download it to the Garmin etc, will do a search but if anyone can recall if this has been covered then a link would be appreciated
Many thanks |

There's certainly at least one excellent (free!) prog. called "Tyre" (Trace Your Route Everywhere) that creates routes for the Garmin and TomTom brands, using Google maps.
Have a look here.
I think you can also use Google Earth to create routes in kml (?) format and convert those to what you need for the Garmin (sorry I'm a Tomtom man).
Remember that all of these create a list of POINTs for the satnav to follow, rather then an actual route. It's a subtle difference, but basically the sat nav works out it's own route between each point, which MAY not be the same as you looked at on Google.
The trick is to add sufficient points, not too far apart, so that it will always follow the same track as you're expecting. |

I beg your pardon? Besides the fact that you couldn't be bothered to give your post a meaningful title, or post it in a relevant forum, the reply Andy gave was for a solution that applies equally well to your Garmin as it does to TomTom.
Perhaps you ought to get a life, and whilst you search for one, why not send the Garmin back, it's clearly to complex for you. And whilst you're at it why not learn some manners, you charmless twit. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Very difficult to convey 'Flouncing Off' in so few words. Well done. _________________ Mike R [aka Wyvern46]

Not sure if this will make it through the auto-censor, but in one word...
" ".
(Shucks, it didn't)
... and Tyre is such a good program for Garmin Nuvi users too! |
