Has anyone had problems with the data recorded in trip logs ?.
I went for a walk yesterday and the log was fine except for 'max speed' which said 25.7 mph, given i was walking up a steep hillside for half an hour i think its a bit inaccurate
Everything was reset before hand, unit wasnt turned off and had excellent satellite lock all the way. |

I have had this from time to time which I came to the conclusion was caused by very short periods of movement at that speed.
For instance if the Active 10 was on the ground and I picked it up quickly then for that second or so that was the speed it was travelling. The unit cannot differentiate Max Speed from a slowish walk or this very short period rapid movement.
That's how I figured it anyway.

Bosun is probably correct but another issue to be taken into account it the accuracy of the GPS fix.
In the past I have apparently achieved speeds near that of sound when travelling through areas of poor satellite coverage. If the A10 thinks you are at point A one second and thinks you are at point B the next second it has to conclude that you moved between the two at whatever speed was necessary to achieve the result. Hopefully however this should make little or no difference to the overall average speed for the trip.
I have had this happen with the A10 and Garmins and now take no notice of the max speed. _________________ LostMike

Ah, yes, that would be it, a statistical outlier
Thanks |
