How good is the 775T?

I am currently using a Nuvi 660 but would like to upgrade to something new that includes US maps. I am looking at the Nuvi 775T but am not sure about its reliability as I have seen some negative reviews. Does anyone here have any experience with this unit?

I have a 775T I bought it in September 2009, it has done two trips to AZ and NM, plus a few trips to France, Germany, Italy Denmark and Sweden, plus a some travel in the UK.

I take the trails into Basecamp so that I can see where I have been.

Sat acquisition is reasonable (in fact remarkably fast cf my old Magellan).

Battery life when in walk around mode is OK it would be nice if longer or if you could add a battery back pack to it for walk around use. Fun to use on a high speed train to observe the speed and route.

We see you’re using an ad-blocker. We’re fine with that and won’t stop you visiting the site.
