How long does it take before HD Traffic is ready to use on your Go?
Test conditions are -
Start counting from the moment the normal navigation display appears on scree after switch-on - through the time when the Traffic bar appears - and stop counting when the "x number of incidents" message appears as a pop-up, and the incidents (if any) are shown in the bar. |

Already I have a problem!
I want to vote twice, as I've got an x40 and an x50, but I'm not allowed.
So add another vote for "under 2 mins" in the x50 column. |

it also depends on where you are but on average 2 mins is about right ...
but tbh I have never really checked how long it takes ..as long as it's there around when I start driving I am happy _________________ TomTom 5001 |

Ahh... maybe I should have made the division between good and bad 3 minutes?
Too late to change it now though (unless an admin can?) |

Am I allowed a proxy vote to do it for you, Andy, as I have neither of the relevant devices? _________________ Anita

Also the NavCore version will also affect the result. Before 9.058 mine was fine but the delay was introduced with 9.058 |

Yes I agree. I voted <2mins on x40 because I reverted back to v8.371. If i had stayed on v9.058 I would be voting the other way! |

One proxy vote cast for "under 2 mins" in the x50 column. _________________ Anita

I've timed my 550 Live (with 9.058) again this morning.
Traffic bar after 24 secs. Traffic info after 1 min 25 secs. This was at home at a ground floor window with a Network signal fluctuating from 1 to 2 bars. Vote cast accordingly.
Sim model 00.01.06_EU
[edited to include Sim details]

Well I've posted my 750 as under 2 minutes just now. I never expected this to happen as yesterday when in use it did not pick up HD Traffic at all in over 1hr's driving! I was getting really concerned as this had been happening over 2 days and I had also had the resetting "bug or feature" happening again!
So when I saw your poll I thought that I would be one of those going to be upset about having to wait for the HD Traffic to log on - I was flabbergasted when after an initial reset (I then did a drums roll reset) it achieved the result mentioned above.
Why are these units so unstable? Is it an inherent "feature" of the software ie. it is full of bugs that are not being fixed?
Cheers, jack. |

That's what we're flailing around trying to work out, mate.
It SEEMS to affect people on x40 models more than x50, but still not everyone. |

My 950 takes around 90seconds from main navigation screen appearing to the amount of incidents text being shown!

The wifes 550 gets it's traffic in well under two minutes but my 940 takes over 3 minutes (both v9.058).
Maybe people could include the sim card model as well when posting login times and lets see if there is any correlation there?
(info obtained from Status & information - Version information - Network)
550 - 00.01.06_EU - less than 2 mins
940 - 00.01.04 - more than 3 mins _________________ TT 825 (The companies)
