|
|
As stated above I have a Garmin nuLink 1695 and I have no real problems with the voice I am using but I would like to tweak it a bit. Such as making some sounds louder and changing a few expressions such as "calculating".
When I investigate the voices on the Garmin I find that there are several vpm files for British UK voices. How do I know which one I am using, how do I chanmge it (if necessary) and what is then easiest way to modify it as suggested above? _________________ David

Give this program a shot. I've used it myself quite successfully and it's been around for awhile.

Thanks for the link - I will investigate.
All I need to know is which voice I am using and how do I change it - if necessary?
I could, I suppose temporarily remove all voices bar one and see if it still works!! _________________ David

Not sure I understand your comment about removing all voices, nor why you would want to. To check which voice is currently in use, and change to a different one if desired: Tools/Settings/Language _________________ Garmin 1695 / 255 / 760 w/MSN - Droid w/Google nav + Navigon - Navigon 8100T - Dakota10 - GPSMap76C - GeoMate Jr. |

I would like to do that but do not know how. My fall back situation was to remove all the voices, bar one, to see if I am using that voice. Very pedestrian I agree but I do have a good idea which one I am using so it should not take too long!! _________________ David

I just told you how to check which voice is in use. Tap Tools, then Settings, then Language (the big lips ). The voice in use will be noted in the very top box. Tapping it will allow you to change the voice. If you want actual street names to be announced, be sure TTS is part of the voice name. _________________ Garmin 1695 / 255 / 760 w/MSN - Droid w/Google nav + Navigon - Navigon 8100T - Dakota10 - GPSMap76C - GeoMate Jr. |

I'm sorry, I obviously did not read your previous post very well and missed the very last line.
I really appreciate your help and your patience.
Many thanks. _________________ David
