So 478 is not included - Shame the assistant (or catalogue or website) didn't know - I actually had both 475 & 478 boxes opened on Argos counter at time tryna find the difference for the extra £10 - 475 prolly supports custom PIOs too grrrrrrrrrrr |

There is no difference between the 478 and 475 apart from the original pre-loaded maps.
Both have the same functions once the service packs and updates have been applied.
The only real differenc is the 478 is UK only the 475 is available as UK, Western Europe or Full Europe. |

I should also point out that it would seem the 2 year map offer only seems to apply to units with that statement on the box.
So far at least two of us have purchased the stated models from Argos only to find the serial numbers being rejected by the registration website page.
Argos just say sorry and I am yet to get a reply from mio/navman support.

The 478 I had wouldn't allow custom POIs (no button at all)
the 475 has custom POIs option
both tried with latest 4.7 version of Miomore desktop |

I figured that would be the case when I noticed my 475 didn't have a sticker, but that's not what it says on the Mio website so it will interesting to know what they say - website just says certain models purchased from Halfords & Argos from Feb to sometime in march |

But the mio website says "This Promotion is open to customers who have purchased a Mio Navman 470, Navman 475 or Navman 575, between June 1st, 2010 and 31 March 2011 at Argos or Halfords to be entitled to 2 years updates of the maps that were originally included on the device at purchase."
Not that you must find a store with stock with the right sticker on the box.

This is what it actually says on their website, and it could be interpreted two ways as it says "up to two"
................The 2 years map updates will be effective from July 2010 and will include up to two map updates over that period. The free map update offer will be available as a download from your MioMore Desktop.................
so has anyone queried this with Mio? Does the 2 years run from when you bought it or from July 2010?
Incidentally I have also seen somewhere on their website "up to four updates over 2 years" for this promotion but I have lost the will to navigate their labrynth website again to try and find it!
Does anyone actually get replies to emails to Mio support and if so how long does it take? |

Not sure where you read that but it actually said "upto 2 updates per year" (maximum of 4)
the key thing is we dont got no 2 years updates at all - serial number was rejected |

Jethro
I'm sorry but I can't remember exactly which page I read it on but I was pinging around their web site to try and find some information that wasn't contradicted elsewhere and I didn't bookmark it Anyway you are quite right, at the moment we don't have anything. If only they would respond we would know where we stood and be in a better position to pursue it with Argos if necessary. So I will ask again the question I have posed in another thread, where is the elsusive person who has actually had a reply from Mio on this? |

Hummer/Jethro - I have also received this email from them, so as you say we will have to wait and see. It also said in my email that the answer "is also posted on our website" I am not sure what this means as I couldn't find it. Anyone? |
