Turned my laptop on this morning and got a TomTom message saying an update is available.
Yes, Navigator v10.73
Downloading now.
Update done but can't see how to update POI's ?
Worked it out now....Have to download Home V3??
Still can't work out how to install POI's?? |
Yes, Home App should then offer a new version of it which has the POI option on it which then opens a webpage to load a file at a time.

Oooo...the MyTomTom app says that it's downloading updates....
Oh....was only a MyTomTom update (3.0.2.251) but that's now also giving me Navigator 10.473.
Downloading.
OK - so after installation of the device, that app version is actually listed as 10.110.632670.74 |

I only bought the TT on saturday and have just got the update.... typically after I had run the cable through the dash on the car but before I had another one delivered!!
Never mind... just putting the POI's on now.

Maybe you're not driving fast enough?
I have the PGPS camera POI's installed now. _________________ GO 620, Tomtom Android EU,

Seems that the only way to get voice is to rename each ov2 and bmp to the warning you want read out.
Soooo, does anyone know an easy way to update the files every week without having to manually rename every time?
Or, would the admin here consider issuing the files in a second format for the 1000 series that's already renamed to something suitable to be use as the read out warning?
Also, just to note that I have put on three POI files, each with at least 15,000 entries in them with no obvious issues as yet.
The only difference I do note is that before on my 540, when navigating to a POI and selecting POI near you, I could search for ANY of the POI's in that set regardless of distance away (but would list the ones closest as I typed). Now, it only lists those upto around 35 miles away. So I now have to 'navigate to POI in city' before entering my POI name/reference.

I have relatives in Wales who live in locations that I cannot remember.
I have them all in a POI but because they are more than 35 miles away and I cannot recall the name of any towns in the area I cannot navigate to them.
Does the Favourites POI category have the same (nearby only) limitation?

Does the Favourites POI category have the same (nearby only) limitation | Have you tried renaming the individual entries, perhaps to the name of the person, to help in locating the correct one?
I think it's more a case of the nearest 24 POIs, rather than a miles figure. _________________ Richard

And when I click to view map the POI's fav and satellite images are ghostified out. I can't check them, How do I mange the camera database to show and warn me of them. Sorry for being a pain
SORRY just found out how to do it!! |

The search also only seems to look at the nearest 24 also so even with their full name it finds no match.
However, in favourites it is okay so I just renamed family.ov2 to favorites.ov2, copied to device followed by a power cycle and all are listed in alpha order with search.

This is stretching my patience ......
Home 3 says I have and update, it then updated home 3 to 3,0,2,251 It then again say again I have one update available, I then connect my 1005 nothing gets downloaded and after about 10 seconds it says my 1005 is up to date. The app is still 10.040 - 1/10/2010.
I am offered no web page to download 3rd party POI.
I have tried clearing the cache and done a TT reset
Am I doing something wrong or missing something? _________________ Triumph Tiger 800 XRt

To add the POI's select the My TomTom Icon at the bottom of your desktop, and then select Add Shared POI, which should then open a web browser allowing you to add your POI's if your IP settings are correct _________________ GO 620, Tomtom Android EU,
