Easyport mount

My XL IQ2 has the easyport mount, I'm just wondering whether it will last longer if I unattach it complete with unit from the windscreen every time or keep the mount on the windscreen and just unclip it. I use it every day so concerned it will start to become a bit loose eventually.

1st of all its not adviseable to keep it on the screen. It lest scumbags know you have either a phone or satnav in the vehicle. Next step is for them to smash a side window to gain entry and loot the vehicle.

Get yourself either a dashboard type ,mount that can be removed or an airvent type mount that looks as though its part of the vent system.

TomTom are currently advertising various mounts at cheapish prices, a little cheaper than Halfords in fact. If you want to see what is on offer take a look at their site.

To your main question. We've had a TTXL for going on 21/2 years and had no bother with the easyport mount at all. In fact recently bought a TTXXL routes with the 5inch screen and its holding up well on the mounting. In our case we use one of the airvent mounts in the Picasso, I am going to get another airvent mount to go in my ragtop. Like I say when its attached to the airvent it could easily be one of those air freshener mounts when the screen is detached, just what you need with a softop!
