Does it?
Home 2 remembers the different account names for each device I connect to it, and logs in appropriately, but no version of MyTomTom that I've used does.
I need to log in manually with the account name for each device. |

Do you remember that customer satisfaction survey?? Did you give them lots of praise? _________________ Tomtom Go 1005

Almost certainly doing it in serial number batches and as 1005 models appeared later, they will get the update later. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Yes, but only after you log in and then the serial number appears in the URL and on one device, in the header to the TT HOME3 Dialog box. I never meant to mean that it recognises the device as Home2 does, in order to automatically log on . _________________ Gee-Pee

I can personally confirm a successful update for a GO 1005, so I believe that the order is not by model but by some other criteria. |

Ahh, I see.
Apologies, I misunderstood. |

That's the first report I've seen for a 1005, congrats!
Can you say what software version it's now running? (and what it WAS on, if you can remember) |

Alphabetical order by shoe size perhaps?! |

When did you receive the update? Perhaps they have just reached the 1005's? _________________ Darren Griffin |

I think there is something else going on here and it is not planned!
I think that everyone with a 1000/1005 was supposed to get the update earlier in the week.
The fact that many are not, was not intentional, but due to a glitch in their systems which they are trying to resolve.
This ties in with the update on Facebook that said working "on a solution". That terminology was a bit of a giveaway.
But there is another clue. The new TomToms DO now support weekly camera updates. I received one camera update, but have not received any since.
I think their update system is hosed and they are trying to cover it up while they work on it! |

If by this you mean that "perhaps the've released for all the 1000's and now have moved onto the 1005's", then no-one at Tomtom has told my 1000!. |

No that's not what I mean. The 1005 came out some time after the first batch of 1000's. But that doesn't mean that all the 1005's have later serials than 1000's.
I'm guessing as to what if any system they are using. Maybe they are activated in strict order against the dates they were first connected to Home2, maybe it's a lottery and maybe it's all broke, who knows! And given it's a feature that is far from useful as is, I wouldn't be in too much of a hurry to get it. _________________ Darren Griffin |

My previous 'platform' was based on running Tomtom on an old HP iPAQ, with seperate GPS. This is what I replaced with the GO LIVE 1000.
I'd read the various threads on here and other places about the GO LIVE 1000's missing features at launch, and if I'm honest I'm not particularly that bothered - on the basis that most will be covered in updates.
There are been numerous posts where people have said they received updates over the last couple of months - and in a couple of cases around December, Map updates. On each occasion my unit hasn't suggested that any update was available.
However, whilst I'm not overly bothered about the POI feature at the moment, I am keen to see that device actually receive an update - really just to prove that it can, and that's it not experiencing a 'fault' when it comes to updating.
Thanks
Iain
