|
|
Hi folks,
I've been looking for this on the Cameralert App, but cannot find it so don't know whether it's a feature request. It would be nice to be able to change the warning range depending on the type of camera you are approaching.
It would be nice to be able to set an alert time for 10 seconds on Gatso's and 30 seconds on Mobiles etc.
I can't see how to do this at the moment as it just seems to be a global setting for everything. If it's not possible to implement and isn't already there, what does everyone using the app think as a good warning range setting for most driving situations?
Thanks for all your help

i set mine at 32 seconds. i was aiming for 30 in the iphone version and inadvertently stopped at 32... that value just stuck and so on the android version (still in testing) i also use 32 seconds...!
it's good distance for me - any further and you forget about he camera by the time you arrive!
i have wondered though if it would be worth suggesting an option for '5 seconds more warning for mobiles' as an on/off switch.

If it was possible, I'd love to see the option of an additional 5 to 10 seconds for mobiles.
I think the difference for me for Mobiles and other cameras are that they can be active far further away. For instance, with a Gatso if you have a 20 second warning, you can probably estimate that you have 15 seconds before reaching the device.
With a mobile camera, the 20 second warning could actually already have you within it's active range - especially on a straight dual carriageway and the likes. |

I would also love to see this feature, I am at 25 seconds at the moment which I find ok for static cameras and most mobiles however there is a mobile on the A666 out of Bolton which definitely needs to be 30+ to avoid being caught.
The longer time is only an issue running behind Tom Tom as I don’t get to see the map of the upcoming camera locations and also forget I have been warned.
But 20 for static and 30 for mobiles would be just perfect for me. |

+1 to have variable warning times for different types of camera
driving around city centre this morning the warning for 'redlights' was giving warnings for the set after next (or possibly 3 sets ahead) which gets very confusing.
