|
|
I brought a new 4GB card for my TT1, as I want to add the complete Europe map. I copied my old card onto the the card (having made a back up first).
Th eold card works fine, bu tthe new one is not recognised - is there anything I can do to make the larger new card work?
Thanks |

Hi
not sure if its the same for all tomtoms but its recomended the the card is a SDHC class 6 as the read speed is faster on these.
alternatively it might need reformatting.
ignore this soz.

Quite the opposite, for that model!
HERE is TomTom's compatibility chart for memory for different models.
So I'm afraid that none of the One models are designed to use SDHC cards, and won't work with them reliably (some people do manage to get away with it, but it's not recommended)
Unless you've looked VERY hard there are no "plain vanilla" SD cards over 2GB, so you have probably bought an SDHC card by mistake.
Two companies, TopRam and Transcend, USED to do a 4GB standard SD card, but I don't know if they still do. |

Sure does!
I used to be able to be reasonably confident I knew what I was talking about, but more and more I have to look things up first before I reply now! |

many thanks for the replies. As you suspect it is a HC version.
No worries, I have an 'old' 2Gb standard SD card in the digital photo frame - I will swap them over
Thanks again
