|
|
Hi All,
I have been using my 540 with the latest version 9.058 for a while without any live services.
I now have live services but the unit will not work unless i revert the software to a previous version.
I know TT had this problem at first but the TT site says the latest version corrects this fault.
Can anyone confirm what version they have on their 540 with the live services working? |

My own 540 & 550 both run PERFECTLY with 9.058 as do all/any other 540's that "pass through my hands" including Live Services.
What actually "doesn't work", error message do you get?
Have you tried re-inputting your email/password in Preferences/page 7 MyTomTom account?

740 here works ok. Traffic bar takes 3-4 minutes to appear and start logging in but I'm living with it for now as I use it quite infrequently.
Do you get any error messages? |

Thanks for the info,
I will try again.
It just says it cannot connect to live services.
I have put my account details back in via TT home as it won't let me do it direct on the unit.
Just like every update i do it seems to take a few goes before it works.

How so/why not? May just be a 1008 error whereby you can't (currently) connect to the server? |

Thanks for the help everyone.
I tried again and after about 5min the unit connected ok.
Went on a little trip and working fine.
May have just been a problem at the server?

This is the whole problem with 9.058, it takes about 3-5 minutes to connect to the tomtom servers. |

Not for me.
I timed it a few days ago for another topic and on my Go940 running v9.058 it took a total of 1 minute 7 seconds from first switch-on (when the navigation screen appeared) to produce the sidebar AND to retrieve the HD Traffic information and show it in the sidebar.
That's about as long as it always takes, and seems reasonable to me. |

1 minute 7 seconds from switch on does indeed seem reasonable but there are a few here who do have to wait several minutes for the bar to even appear and then have to wait as it logs in. Even TT have admitted it affects several users. |

I know.
I think I've said before, I'm willing to try any experiments anyone can come up with, to see if we can work out why. |

Could the difference in observed behaviour be related to a differenc between 540/740 and the 940? I've noticed before that Navcore updates are often shown as being for the 540/740 with presumably the 940 getting a slightly different version, possibly due to some difference in hardware? |

Could be....
My full version details (on a Go940) are App: 9.058.568435.1 OS 541764 (1030, 25/8/2010)
And exactly the same version on a Go950. |

Versions on my 540 are exactly the same, put quickest it takes the blue bar to come up is 3 minutes, quite often takes 5 minutes. It's not just the blue bar it's all live services, in that first 3-5 minutes if I try google or weather etc it says cant connect to tomtom server, once blue bar appears they work too. |

That's because they all (weather, Google etc) use the LIVE Services Servers. The blue Traffic Bar is just one part of the package. Until your unit has logged in none of the LIVE Services will work. |
