I tried the Pretec's utility and also could not get it to work.
I used the RoyalTec Windows software utility to setup my BlueGPS to be how I wanted it, including enabling datalogging on my BlueGPS. The Palm tool I made does not enable or disable datalogging since I always just leave logging turned on.

Folks,
I'd like to build a similiar utility for the DeLorme Blue Logger, but I want to build it for the Pocket PC. I have reasonable experience with the embedded VT (at least that's what I think) so all I'd need would be a description of the protocol to switch the receiver to SiRF mode and do the transfers. Do you think you could explain that to me? 8O _________________ Lutz

Greg,
Thank you for your reply. That's good idea to always leave logging turned on. I didn't come up with that.
I don't have Windows PC, so I borrw it from my friend to enable datalog function. It seems work well. GPS *-*-** ****.pdb file was made into my Palm. I tried to open this pdb files by some editors and Palm Doc reader, but it failed. Could you tell how to open this pdb file? |

The .pdb file contains the raw data from the BlueGPS. The structure of this data as best as I can figure out is listed below. You would need to write a program to convert it to something useful.
typedef struct
{
UInt8 recno[2]; // the record number
UInt8 year;
UInt8 month;
UInt8 day;
UInt8 na; // I don't know what this is?
UInt8 hour;
UInt8 min;
UInt16 na2; // I don't know what this is?
float secs;
double lat; // in decimal format
double lng; // in decimal format
float alt;
float pdop;
float hdop;
float speed;
float direction; // 0 to 360 degrees
UInt8 sats;
UInt8 eventtype;
UInt8 na3[2]; // I don't know what this is?
}bluegps;

Dear All,
I guess I am coming here after the battle.
I am also looking for about the same stuff : to automatically, from my customized application, download and delete the datalogger file.
Do you have any information on this ?
Thank you
Best Regards

Was there any progress in a windows ce version of this software. If so I'd like to hear about it as it as I'm having problems with the supplied pocketpc software losing it's bluetooth connection with the device. |
