|

My sportrak has worked fine for some time, however, now when I go to turn it on it immediately powers down again. It is not a battery issue as I have tried many different sets. Basically when pressing the power, I can see the screen flash and then it goes blank again. Is there anything I can do to resolve before I send it to Magellan? |

Mmmmm.... sounds terminal to me i'm afraid. If you can't switch it on there really is nothing you can do. the only thing i can think of is have you got the batteries the right way around? it's a longshot........ |

So much for water proof. I finally pulled the unit apart and found water inside the unit. I used a hair dryer on the gps and then put it back together. Turned on and operates normally. I opened it back up and am going to leave it open for a week or so to completely dry out. This stinks. The thing is not supposed to leak. I will have to try to find where it was leaking at. |

It has a holder on my jet ski that it rides in from time to time. Friends were riding and it got a very short dunk. I purchased this unit because it was waterproof! Don't know what to do now around being able to use it. |

I expect the water was forced in under pressure, mine has been out in the rain a few times with no ill effects, but i'm sure a ride on a jet ski would make a lot of these handhelds leak! maybe you need something with a more nautical application? I wouldn't use it again on the jet ski though! |
