Hi
I've just had to make a trip to Ryland Road in the Village of Welton in Lincolnshire. TT3 took me to Ryland Road in Dunholme (the next village)
Can anyone confirm that this is not just a problem in my installation?
I think it maybe got a bit confused about two roads with the same name in adjoining villages.
I'm running the latest 2210 BIOS and the latest TT3 release.
Thanks

TomTom's address look-up will always suggest roads with identical names in the surrounding area, the trick to ensure you choose the correct one is to check the Post Code linked to the Road Name is the correct one for your intended destination.
Out of interest, does Ryland Road in Welton show up in the address look-up or is TT suggesting the alternative in Dunholme because it does not have the Welton one in it's map data? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Welton is in tha database.
In the Navigate To / Address dialog box I can select Welton (Lincolnshire) as the city then Ryland Road LN2 3 as the street. Choose my home location as the departure point and it plots a route to Dunholme.
Zooming in on the map view shows that Ryland Road in Welton is in the database.

Alix
I'm on 3.03 already and am using the full GB map.
I've tried setting up this route lots of times now.
It did select Welton correctly once. Every other time it's selected Dunholme.
Just tried it a few more times to make sure - both from Navigator and Map A-B. Same result.

I just tried it and it took me to Dunholme, although the villages are close together and this road links the two villages. It shows that No 28 is in Dunholme, and No 38 is in Welton. If you put the house number in, it will probably take you to the correct location.

Navigating to no. 2 still takes me to Dunholme.
Another quirk is that when I redo the route, TomTom remembers the city and street correctly but the house number selection field is shown as 5 not 2. _________________ iPaq 2210, TomTom 5.21, Holux CF100 gps cradle, Holux GPSlim 236, 512Mb CF card, 1Gb SD card. |

It probably will do - not knowing the area at all, it shows 38 and above is in Welton and below 28 is in Dunholme. 2 is below 28. Click on the road in Map view and look at the house numbers.

There's a no 2 in Dunholme and a no. 2 in Welton (they are different roads).
I know 'cos I went to the wrong house _________________ iPaq 2210, TomTom 5.21, Holux CF100 gps cradle, Holux GPSlim 236, 512Mb CF card, 1Gb SD card. |

Have you considered using the superb 'UKPostCode' Plug-In? This would remove any possibility of error when navigating to a destination. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I have that but out in the wilds postcodes can cover a wide area.
I thought that navigating to an actual house number should be spot on.
Its not a real problem (I shouldn't think that there are too many villages that are next to each other with the same road name). I just thought I'd raise the issue.

You'd be surprised. I was trying to visit somebody who loves in Stambourne Road in Halstead. When I arrived at the house I was told it was the wrong one and that there were four Stambourne Roads within a 5 mile radius. |
