Hi JethroUK,
There should be a sticker on the front of the box with the web site on it, you have to register on-line with your receipt number (on the Argos receipt it is down on the bottom next to TX ) you have to do it within 30 days of buying the unit, I will dig out my box with the sticker if yours does not have it on let me know,

Hi Stackerman - The sticker on my box says http://service.mio.com and i have create an account but it doesn't mention Argos or free map upgrades on this page
If you can post the web address you have on your box that would be great thanks |

Indeed, that would be most useful.

Emailed Argos Customer Service and because this discrepancy was not clearly indicated they called me back and offered to let me exchange it for 475 (extra £10) which i might take up
Just wondering whether there are any other differences e.g speedcam upgrades, custom pois, etc |

I went for the 575 with complete Europe as if it has free map updates might as well go for the works.
However, no mention of the offer on the box and the serial number (which is on the box) is rejected at the offer website.
Thus have email Argos to confirm if offer should apply.
This one still sealed so easier to take back.

Swapping mine tonight for 475 - does bother me that it doesn't recognise your 575 which should be included in the 2 year upgrade - keep us posted
You can actually call Argos Customer Services and they're actually quite helpful - i emailed them and they actually called me back on Sunday which i thought was pretty good |

Some people must like the 575's
3 hours ago Amazon had six and now they are down to two!

Amazon only got 1 575 device now!
Got a email back from argos re the registration error and all they said was sorry and btw the 14 day return policy does not apply (not effecting statutory rights).
Anyway, powered it up and it works, loaded new maps and device software and yes I get the custom POI's option.
I have logged a support call with mio re the 2 yr map code being rejected.
One point, the mio desktop software comes up with a device not ready error re the 575 microSD card slot.
I just put one in just in case it needed extra space during the upgrade.

I traded for the 475 and serial was still rejected - like you I have emailed Mio about this 2 year update issue
Map upgraded to the new one no problems plus i got a little bonus - Miomore desktop downloaded an update whilst i was playing and up popped Custom Poi Option so really pleased about that |
