|
|
I have a TT 750 Live I normally have TT camera alerts switched off as I use PGPSW Speed Camera alerts as in my area I had never TT mobile locations alerts only fixed cameras in neighbouring counties.
I recently updated my map and haven't got round too going through the process of setting up the alert warnings for the various POI pgpsw speed camera alerts again after doing the map update.
So imagine my suprise when last night I saw strange icons coming up on my satnav last night as an alert upon further examination these are mobile camera van alerts but my TT camera alerts are switched off and as I said I haven't got round to setting up the alerts for the PGPSW POI files as yet.
So where these alerts coming from and can I change the setting and switch them on or off?
I can only presume they are built directly into the map itself as I can't find any new menus or sub menus, can anybody shed some light on this for me? |

Occasionally my TT speed camera alerts activate themselves. When I check in the menus it shows the database as Disabled but it's definately switched on. I then have to Enable them and then Disable them again to Disable them.
I'm sure others have reported this too. |

On my GO1000LIVE, I regulary get 'ghost' alerts, and I have yet to find out what they are. I have tried disabling all alerts and they still try to alert me. They are local and I have no idea what they are....one is near a school and another at a main road with nothing on it like cameras or anything. They always happen in the same places so there must be something that I should be aware of. _________________ Gee-Pee

After updates I get the TT warnings also. To get rid of them, set the alerts to "enabled" and then back to "disabled".
Gee-Pee, somewhere there is an option to warn when near schools or places of worship. Sounds like that may have been enabled somehow. I can't remember what the alert icons look like off hand though. _________________ Gerry

Yes, Gerry, those are in Safety Settings, but none of those are enabled. Also, if you want to select a POI category for a warning, after selection, a small speaker icon is shown against the category. None of mine are selected. For TT speed cameras, there is an option to Disable all alerts. I have tried passing these spots with all disabled and I still get the warning. I think it must be 'Warning, Ghosts! _________________ Gee-Pee

What is your safety setting for 'Warn when driving faster than allowed'? _________________ David |

Have you tried what Paull suggested above? You may need to ENABLE them and then disable them again.

Good point...yes, I will try that. Mind you, I'm a tolerant sort of bloke and I can live with it. Sometimes you have to.

Excellent. That has always worked for me in the past too and I'm sure Andy has mentioned it to others before.
Worth remembering. |

I've also encountered this and had to go through the enable/disable route. However I've actually stopped this from happening by not downloading the TT speed cams at all and deleting them all off the device and PC and only use PGPSW ones
Am I right in thinking that even if the TT cameras are downloaded but not enabled the mobile ones still update over live ??
I think that's where this issue stems from. |

Go to Manage POIs / Warn when near POI and go through the setup again for the camera types you require.
Any that have lost their warnings will NOT show a small loudspeaker icon beside the POI name.
Instructions on how to set up the warnings are on the old voice download page here _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |
