Have sent a message to support as outlined to shift my account from my defunct iphone to my Android but no reply as yet.

Now that EZCam has PocketGPSWorld download support, which works seamlessly, I'm anxious to test this in CamerAlet,

Now it has me thinking of getting a HTC Desire HD, mainly because of the power of the HD, also sound on the Blade is so bad.

I now have the HTC Desire HD, spent two day RTM and setting it up and reInstalling my apps back from the Android Market, [the paid for ones, the donated ones do not show up for reInstall, had to donate again Neutral]

Also the nDrive [paid for] was not there for some reason Confused.

So I have after reading here about CoPilot Live 8 [also because it has a help forum here at PGPSW] decided to buy it from the Market to replace the nDrive. [will road test it tomorrow]

The Question to the Staff is may [can] I use the Cameralert-beta.apk on the my new HTC Desire HD?

I have Uninstalled [all my apps] it from my old device [not that old Smile] ZTE Blade [OSF] so it is not in use on it any more.

Thanks in advance for any advice and help you can me.

Take Care

Yes you can. Just use the same APK file that you downloaded earlier.

No system sounds from the handset when connected to in car OEM BT hands free. I don't want to use BT audio on the entertainment system to listen to alerts because I want to listen to radio etc. EZ Cam enabled some basic system sounds for alerts on the hand set while connected to BT HF. The phone is a Samsung Galaxy S. Is this a program fault or is there a system setting somewhere?

We have something like that on the iOS version but I haven't figured out yet how to do this on Android. All hints and pointers are welcome.

On the second line of the about screen there is a "bunch of numbers" this is a unique id. If you copy and send that to support @ pocketgpsworld dot com we can effect the swap over.

Yes I did wonder if the EZCam PGPSW full support was in response to CamerAlert becoming available - it was certainly asked for for ages.

I think as things stand, I prefer EZCam in terms of functionality - as long as it continues to offer seamless PGPSW DB download.

I'm not a fan of the comedy speed camera icons on the map in CamAlert.

Just a small observation about the zoom buttons, they seem to be the wrong way round to most other apps e.g. most have + to the right

App is looking great so far

Thanks

installed on an HTC Hero running 2.2 and used on a longish trips over Christmas.

Had a few force closes initially, but seems stable now. I'd certainly use it in preference to EZCam but for 2 things ...

Speed display is too small for picking up at a glance

and

those icons!! They looks great when the phone is in the hand, but as a way of getting information quickly when driving, I'd prefer something simpler. Must be my eyes! How about a choice of icons?

Hi,

I can repeatedly get the app to throw an error when starting ( Stopped unexpectedly error) This happens when the phone is syncing with the Google servers. What email address would you like the logs sent to?

Would it be possible to have the camera detection area shown as a red cone on the map so as to better help users understand why they may get a false alert?

Finally when I try link my account. I get the warning 'Both accounts have an active subscription. Please contact our support team.' I believe this is because I have download the database in OV2 (tomtom) format and CSV for when I tried another camera alert program

Can you solve this for me?

Thanks
Wayne

Most sounds from the phone use A2DP BT profile - For example Google Nav, Sygic, music player etc.. In order for most car kits to interrupt the radio they have to use the handsfree BT profile. So I suspect you need to get the warnings to use that profile.

I am lucky - my TH Bury kit will interupt on both handsfree and A2DP.
