|
|
Have bought my wife a "Start" for christmas but have now read a few posts on here about it being incompatible with the camera database.
Until I turn it on i dont know what the latest software version will be.
Should I try the database or change it for a compatible version ?
Grateful for any help & suggestions _________________ "You have reached your destination" |

There are ways to get the speed camera database from this site working on the start but its certainly not been made easy, one option is to install a custom menu file, the other is to drop a pre-configured MapSettings.cfg file straight in to the active map folder but this requires access to a higher spec TomTom PND to create the said file.
To be honest I would consider swapping it out for something like the XL IQ which does offer some third party POI support - Mike |

To provide the MapSettings.cfg file?
If your One can handle the camera database, then yes, it should be a suitable 'donor.' |

I have just been given a FREE TT Start and intend having it as a family and back-up unit for my 930.
What is involved in creating a MapSettings.cfg file from my 930 to drop onto the map file in the Start? _________________ Regards,

It should be there on the 930 already.
There's always one in the folder for your map (if you were to delete it, the system builds a new one next time you switch on).
So set up all your POI warnings just how you like them and then copy the file over to the Start. |

Since pois do not show in driving view on a Start, there is no option to set warnings for them. _________________ David |

So I think I understand now, just copy the file from my 930 to the map folder on the Start. If poi's are not visable will I still get the warnings? _________________ Regards,
