Like others here I'm not pleased about the Traffic not being compatable and emailed them to say so - I have about 14 months to run.

I had problems yesterday with the recalc bar at the bottom of the screen and found if you press the little arrow head in the bottom right corner to reduce the size of the info bar and then hit it again the recalc bar goes. Strangely though it stopped doing it after a while, didn't see it when I was on the motorways only when doing country roads.

I've only had CP8 for a week and done a couple of trips with it, big trip next weekend though but overall I'm quite pleased with the product so far although I don't see much point in not having the favourites available under "Destination".

Let's hope we don't have to wait too long for the update

During the week I received a map update for the UK/Ireland.

and then Saturday I received another update called "Map maintenance operations"

Any ideas what these updates were for?

Thanks Matt

I got these updates as well. Although CoPilot is set to check for updates, I still had to manually check Confused Again no idea what the updates are Confused

Also seems to crash/freeze quite often when closing resulting in a soft reset.

Ive not received any updates, though when I check on the device it says nothing so I check again and the twirling icon just twirls and twirls until I do a soft reset as the device does not respond, this CP8 is seriously getting on my nerves now.

Still no news on the Qwerty keyboard, although the question is now listed on their FAQ page,
( the question is undated ) so the answer :
Quote:
Yes, we are planning to reintroduce a QWERTY keyboard via a free update soon.
.... is a little ambiguous.

I have asked ALK Support for a more definitive answer but have not had a reply from them yet - after nearly a week Sad

Similarly Traffic gets a mention on their list of FAQ's :
Quote:
Q. When will traffic be available?
A. September 2009. More details to follow.

September has been and gone Rolling Eyes

Listed now in Co-Pilot Central is the v8 update for Pocket PC.

The download of 10.3 Mb doesn't actually want to download to my computer,
and I am waiting for a response for "Support" - but it looks like the QWERTY keyboard update may be getting closer Laughing

Just unboxed an HTC HD2 with CoPilot Live v8 presinstalled.

Two features hit me straight away, no QWERTY keyboard and cannot select a destination by input of postcode only.

Sorry don't car how pretty it looks but for these two reason alone I will not be using it. I'm too stuck in my TomTom ways entering only a postcode to select a destination ...

Any other recommendations for navigation on HTC HD2 please?

Ive moved away from Copilot now and got myself a perfect condition tomtom one 1gig with new maps on for very little.

Best sat nav reliability and simple to use in comparison to CP8.

I didnt need any fancy features but as above qwerty and reliability where big issues for me and the pants way you update speed cameras,...

Can you tell Im not missing CP8

Hi,

Running V8 on HTC Desire. Software good enough not to need TT in car as well.

Having problem with PocketGPS speed camera database.

It says 'Integrating 11,000' POI but then hangs at a screen with a cancel button?

Help.

Just been given a work PDA MC55 for tril with CP8 on, had it a week so far, was using TT Nav.
no QWERTY Keyboard not fun could not find anywhere to set up the screen setting to give me ,(ETA, Lat log, speed etc) & other info that I prefir till after a week of playing i found if i tap on the screen at the bottom edge i get set options which I cant mix & match, like tomtom, it would of been a lot easier to do it so just go into setings & decide what you want to see on the screen, having a tick box, have not yet found how to change for left handed person, like me.

It continully freezzes for no apparent reason, & i find the only way to get it sorted is by pushing a button for the phone then revert back to co pilot not happy about this!
