Hi Forum,
Due to popular demand (and in case you didn't receive our email), I am happy to announce that Telmap User Group is now supporting Android devices and BlackBerry Torch 9800.
If you are already a member and have upgraded your device - you can simply download from the usual URL - www dot telmap dot com/tmug. If your activation code was issued after April 27, 2010 you can just reuse it. New members should register at our website -
www dot telmap dot com /tug
You can view details about this version in our Release Notes
Thanks
TUGAdmin

Downloaded and installed. It looks very nice, much 'smoother' interface.
The big problem I have at the moment is that something is going wrong with text input in searching for a location. The Postcode I am trying starts RG42. When I type 'R' it maximises the advert for a hotel. when hitting the back arrow it goes back to the map and keeps pasting '3' in the text field as if the 'alt' key is depressed even when it isn't. I can't enter a location!
I don't have predictive text enabled. Will try a battery pull.
Update: It's only the 'R' key that causes a problem. Is that setup in the application as a shortcut for 'Revealing' an advert or something? |

When there is an advert banner along the bottom of the screen the 'R' key brings the advert to full screen effectively rendering search unusable if you are looking for a location with an 'r' in. When there is no advert banner the 9800 version is a leap forward in terms of ease of use, look and feel. |

I've been waiting for a version for the BlackBerry Torch, I installed it last night and will try it out today, so far it loads faster than previous version and I love the new interface. Will post results after using it today. |

I tried the new version yesterday and I had no problems at all, I didn't experience the issue some have mentioned about entering an address that has the letter R in it. The new interface is fantastic, loading and closing the app so much quicker.
I'm not sure what the "My Profiles" option is, when I select it, I get this message:
Unable to process your request. Please try again or contact customer support.
That's all for now, will do more testing over the next couple of days. |

Hello Rino,
Our version for Android is designed to run on all Android devices so there's a good chance it will work on your device.
However we have only fully tested it on 4 different devices:
HTC Hero
HTC Magic
Samsung Galaxy
Samsung Galaxy Lite
I'd be happy to hear how it goes for you with the Nexus S.
Thanks

Hi Rino,
Glad to hear that. Thank you.
Please do fill out our Usability Survey.
As a BB 9800 user we are especially interested in your feedback on our Touch Screen Interface. It only takes 5 - 10 minutes.
Thanks

Why it is not possible to use PASTE for the activation code when using the 9800 or Android device? |

Hi Rino
Great - thanks for the update.
We know that the "Paste" feature is missing for activation codes.
It's in the list of things to fix. |
