I have a TT540, with a live services paid up to 23/12/11.
If i decided to sell the TT, can i transfer the live services subscription to my new TT (Thats if i buy i TT) or can the potential new owner have the subscription transferred to them? _________________ Keith

TomTom are not entirely keen on it - they lose the new owner's subscription!
Two options...
1. You give the new owner your email address and password. NOT RECOMMENDED!!
2. You change the registration details to an email address and password that the buyer gives you. _________________ Dennis

You don't use Home.
To transfer registration to the new owner, you change your details on the tomtom.com website to newowner@wherever.com, password xxxxx (details obtained from the new owner, who should be advised to at least change the password once he's got the device).
I just realised I only answered half your questions. That's a lot of Live subscription you have left, so it would be worthwhile transferring it to your new TomTom. I think that has to be done by TomTom and it would be wise to ask them before you get too far down that line. Certainly, if you were to get a new TT, it would be wise to register it with a new email address - using your existing one transfers the registration from the old to the new, but I don't think it will transfer the Live subscription which will be different for a different device.
Incidentally, you can't/mustn't leave the PocketGPSWorld camera database on the device when you dispose of it - if the new owner allows it to be copied and published, if/when pgpsw find it, it will still be identified as your download and you'll forfeit your membership here. _________________ Dennis

So would this mean i'd have to delete all the speed cameras off the map individually?
Plus, how would i know the difference to what i'd added to the maps and what was originally on the TT540? _________________ Keith

You just need to delete the files you downloaded from here. If you didn't change the filenames they will all start with PGPSW_ so shouldn't take more than a few seconds to do. |

EDIT The pgpsw camera database filenames all start with "pocketgps". _________________ Dennis

Since a new TT unit would come with 12 months live services (they still do, dont they?) then would TT actually add the remaining 12 months of the existing live services to the end of the "free" period? Seems unlikely.
Strangely enough when I got my Go 540 Home offered to transfer the map update service to it from my Go 520. I didnt think they did that and there were no more maps left from it anyway and I was waiting for the map use the latest map guarantee.
One of these years TT will get something right and surprise us all! _________________ TomTom Go 540 - V9.058, Map GB & Ireland 860.3101
