Garmin have released an update for the 37X0 series

Change History
Changes made from version 2.50 to 3.60:
* Added support for the ecoRoute HD accessory.
* Added Garmin Language Guide support.
* Improved Language Translations.
* Improved reliability of sleep/wake operations.

* Added Loc8 Postal Code functionality for Ireland.

BAVC10 (or anyone else with a 37X0 unit), would you please let us all know if v3.60 does indeed include identifying the road you are on (which I for one would find useful) or the compass (helpful). Such items were present on my Navman 530 a number of years ago and I would have hoped that such aids were part of the 'standard specification' for any GPS. It seems like a step in the right direction for Garmin and would certainly help induce me to move to a 3790. _________________ Dabri.

It did include an undocumented upgrade. Prompted Navigation, a toggled view of three different navigation options shown on the map. Only other current Garmin that already included it was the nuLink 1695. _________________ Garmin 1695 / 255 / 760 w/MSN - Droid w/Google nav + Navigon - Navigon 8100T - Dakota10 - GPSMap76C - GeoMate Jr. |

Question: Will the nuvi 3700 series ever have the ability to transfer routes from MapSource into the device?
Answer:
At this time the nuvi 3700 series does not have the ability to manually receive created routes from MapSource or any third party applications.
Garmin intends to add this functionality into the nuvi 3700 series via a software update sometime in the future. Current plans call for the update to be released in the first quarter of 2011.
The nuvi 3700 series does offer the functionality to manually create multiple point routes on the device itself through the Trip Planner feature listed under the Tools menu.

Mapsource is included with the map updates. If you've never downloaded one, then it's probably easier to get Garmin's free BaseCamp instead. And there's an advantage there in that it can use the maps pre-installed on your nuvi, something Mapsource can't. _________________ Garmin 1695 / 255 / 760 w/MSN - Droid w/Google nav + Navigon - Navigon 8100T - Dakota10 - GPSMap76C - GeoMate Jr. |
