You haven't removed any files by chance; I did once in error and had same issue; Windows sees them as "Recovered File Fragments", but they must be left intact. _________________ Gel

Hi Gel
I don't think so. It started after a map upgrade, but I restored the backup I did just prior to the upgrade and it was still the same. I have since deleted all files and restored again, but still no joy.
All -- I have realised today that the unit is still within warranty, so I'm going to see if Curry's will sort this out for me!
I'm very, very grateful for all suggestions and advice posted here.

Good luck with that; if hopeless you'll perhaps have to navigate TT's help desk directly.
They should be able to sort you out but don't use web based help as you end up with a series of template answers, and your Guarantee may expire before resolved!! _________________ Gel

If its more than a few weeks old the retailer will simply tell you to deal directly with TomTom, save yourself a trip out in the cold and give TomTom a ring first thing in the morning (0845 161 0009) - Mike |

Thanks, Mike. I'm passing Currys anyway so I'll see what they say, but you might be right. Number is useful -- saves me hunting for it!
Cheers

OK, so you were right! After a few suggestions from TT about how to fix it (most of which I'd already tried), I sent it back to them and they replaced it.
Have to say they were helpful and prompt and obliging.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions and input. |
