Hi, I am using an Ipaq 5450 with tomtom bluetooth receiver, and TT3 software.

TT3 seems to take me what it considers the quickest route, but I can't find anywhere in the software that I can specify I want to go the most direct route.

Anyone any ideas?

Having said that, I'm a real newbie to Satnav, using it to navigate me to weddings (I'm a photographer) and now I've got it, I feel invincible!! I can go anywhere!!!!

Any ideas on this would be great though.

Thanks

in map mode, tap on the A > B icon, then tap on the "Type" tab - there you can switch between shortest and quickest route.

Be aware of the Methuselah Bug though. As soon as you do a reroute TomTom will fall back to "quickest" mode. No way around that (apart from following the route religiously)

This only works in the map mode though. I prefer to use the navigator and it always chooses the fastest route. Any other ideas?

nope. Live with it or write to TomTom. They haven't listened to thousands of others, but maybe they will listen to you.

I thought reroute only ever functioned when in Navigator mode? If I follow a route in Map Mode then venture off the route it doesn't recalc.

If you use the a-b icon in map mod, it will transfer the route to navigator if you hit the navigator button, mine does not update then, just follow it and it should work.
