I'm just utterly baffled why they should finally grant the 100% backlight in Advanced Power Save Mode and then capriciously remove it again. Satmap have confirmed they done this and have no plans to reinstate it, nor will they say why. Thank god I can now have the OS mapping in a Garmin! |

Would anybody happen to have the link, save going through Satsync, as my A10 has gone into Recovery Mode using Satsync for the first time ever. Thanks. |

I just caught Satmap before they went home and they sent me the link to upgrade without Satsync. However, following the instructions to the letter, (after it..the PC...said that the installation was successful, I've still ended up with the same message on the A10 'Recovery Mode....install an SD card with a valid firmware update'.. Any ideas please ? |

Strange, I think,as I can connect to Satsync despite the above ongoing message, and it shows both the internal files and all the walks on my SD card. I have tried to reinstall 1.5 as per the Help button on Satsync, again no good. I guess I will just have to get an upgrade card as the screen says. Very annoying as I have been upgrading everytime a new version comes out, with no problems. I imagine it is something to do with the fact that it is one of the very earliest models released....ordered when they first had their waiting list in operation. I wonder if I should Ebay it and start again with the latest model ?? Suggestions ?? |

A couple of things that i'd try but don't know if they will work.
Try running the upgrade without your map card inserted.
After the upgrade, disconnect the usb cable and switch the A10 on and off.
Try a factory reset. |

Thanks, but tried that half dozen times in various modes.....but I wish there was a factory reset as I'd give it a go, but how and where is it !? (And the current screen is completely locked to the 'upgrade card' message despite taking the battery also in and out a few times !) |

F-F,
I had this exact problem and I had already updated the platform software previously.I put the SD card in again and it whizzed and farted and all was well.
Reverted to default settings though.
One thing I did notice was that on the "About" settings page it used to show the platform software as "9.something.21" ( forgotten the exact figures ),but it now shows simply "platform 21".
I have a platform upgrade card ( red label - For Active 10 GB ) if you want to borrow it and save yourself a tenner or so,pm me if you want to borrow it.
Also I think the reps that are touring the country will update it for free if you can catch one.

SETTINGS - DEFAULT - YES
But if the unit is locked out then not much good. I'm just going to send you a PM. |

Thanks to one and all...at least with your support I've managed to get back to where I was earlier with 1.45. I think I may well call Satmap on Monday to talk it through...thanks again. |
