Hi I am a bit confused about reporting a speed cam. location. Having reported a location and clicked on submit a page came up with a map of a location and a map of GB. asking if I wished to add more. Is the map of the location the one I have submitted or just a demo map.

Alan | Yes and no. If you click the location map, it will return you to where you last submitted. If you hit the GB one, it will return you to the full GB map. This was brought in because, if you have a second cam to report near the first one, it was a pain in the a** to have to start again with the full GB map |

Thanks for reply M8TJT
it's just that the location map it showed was not the location that I had wanted to report. I had tried to get long/latt from google earth, my 720 sat nav and the PGPSW report map. then trying to convert how long/lat is displayed I dont know if I messed up or not. should I try to report it again.

No, it's not where you submitted, it's just meant to depict a close up map, as opposed to the whole UK. But I agree that it's a bit confusing when you first see it. If you click it, the map should zoom in to about the area that you were on last. |

As it's Techno-Thursday (TM) the confirmation page DOES now show the location you submitted
Thanks for the idea for this one!

Now I'll have to find a cam to submit so that I can see it in action |

There should be no need for conversion if you use our map. When submitting a cam, use the submission map, zoom in to where the cam is, make sure that the bottom tip of the pointer is in the centre of the road adjacent to the cam location, then click the 'Accept this location' below the map. This will fill in the Lat/Lon for you.
Alio1326 wrote: | I dont know if I messed up or not. should I try to report it again. | As you had 'problems' submitting, let us know the Lat/lon and no doubt the Magical MaFt might let you know if your submission was correct as it's Techno Thursday and he is obviously in one of his rare good moods There again, he might not if he has turned grumpy at my post

submission is on the A639 (Leeds Road) just outside Rothwell*
*Interesting facts about Rothwell:
1) It's where Dennis is from (I think)
2) It's where aliens with lisps went to try find their crashed UFO...

1. I left Rothwell 53 years ago. Used to live on Sixth Avenue. Still go back occasionally for the Rothwell Competitive Music Festival.
2. That's a crummy joke to mention in the presence of somebody who had all his top teeth out this past month and won't be getting artificial ones until the end of January (and who took ages for the penny of the joke to drop anyway). _________________ Dennis

I hope you haven't got any social events that involve eating planned over the festive season then, or you might find yourself sitting at a table on your own!

Thanks, MaFt, I really should have known that, but I'm afraid I've never heard of it!
Maybe Dennis's description should be changed to "Tired Toothless Old Man".
I think even Dennis could do better than that. _________________ Anita
