Never had this problem before can anyone help?
XL was flat so I plugged it into pc to charge before my journey tomorrow night. As usual I allowed it to connect to pc and Home started, it downloaded a couple of map corrections.
I followed the correct disconnect procedure via Home before turning off the unit and leaving it to continue charging in the 'off' mode. Now after a couple of hours charging I have tried to turn it on and all I get is the splash screen, it won't go any further. On turning it off I don't get the close down screen, just a blank green screen. |

Did you try a reset on the unit? (think your model requires a holding of the power button for about 10-15 seconds till there is a drum roll sound). _________________ David |

Yes several times with no result. I'm letting the unit totally discharge again, then recharge and see what happens. When I looked at the map folder via the pc, I see 3 files have changed-they have the 24/11 as the date and not October as many of the other files are. Could it be that when I connected to Home, tomtom have changed something? |

Have you (hopefully) an Explorer backup made prior to the problem that you can restore? _________________ David |

A mains, or car charger, might wake it up with it's higher charge rate. _________________ Richard

It could be the internal memory failing. Does your device have a card slot?
If so, try copying the contents of the device to an SD card. When it's inserted the device will boot and run from that. It works for me, and several others here. _________________ Anita

Thanks for the help people, it is now rectified. I went into the map folder via the pc and removed the updated mapshare files, these were the ones that had different date/time stamps to the rest.
I left the unit switched on last night and after getting up this morning I noticed it sat on the coffee table operating as normal! Weird or what? |
