|
|
Because of a TT error, I've had to do a factory reset to allow my TT940 to renew my subscripton to HD services.
Question 1:
I have a full backup using Windows Explorer prior to the reset. Which files will I have to restore to bring up my PGPS warning distance and OGGs, My favorites etc. and anything else which I might have lost.
I have already noticed that my persoanl map corrections have been lost. ( I don't share map changes via Tom Tom ).
Question 2:
Anything else helpful that I might have missed please?
Best regards,

You need to restore the following files, all in your map folder (where map is the name of your installed map i.e. Western_Europe
All the pocketgpsxxxx.ov2 files
All the pocketgpsxxxx.bmp files
The .ogg voice files if you used our voice alerts
And to restore the warning config and favourites, the mapsettings.cfg file _________________ Darren Griffin |

This might be of interest...
Factory Reset - What it does and doesn't do
Unless things have changed, the factory reset DOESN'T delete the POI files themselves (or the associated audio and icon files), only the settings for them.
Quote: | It seems to remember:
User POI's themselves (the files are not deleted. In fact it comes back with them ALL selected to show on map) |
It's a while ago that I did the experiment, so a few things may have changed, but it should hopefully give you an idea! |

My thanks to both Darren and Andy_P
Followed the link on Andy_P's response and all is now working fine.
As suggested, the personal POI's are *not* deleted.
Have now bookmarked Andy_P's link just in case I forget should it ever happen again.
Best regards,
