Yes you can, just re-name the file extension from bmp to png for the icon and load the files in the same way as the OP, note the icons show correctly on the map but they don't show up in the menu as icons just a TomTom logo next to the POI category name, need to work out a way around this but its a very minor niggle to be honest, you can certainly use them in the usual way for navigating to etc - Mike |
Hmmm moving more and more towards buying TT even though my 740 hasn't given up as it'll be one less thing to carry about....
Would having the BMP icons and BMP/PNG icons together solve the issue with the menus? Just a stab in the dark.... |

No, I have tested icons at 96x96 which appears to be the size they need to be but it still displays them at the smaller size.
It's not a deal breaker and we'll keep plugging away to see if we can resolve it. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Brilliant! Thanks Mike.
Tried this on Sunday and got the cameras etc. on the phone but couldn't get the voices to warn when approaching a camera, read the last but one post from John saying make sure mapsettings.cfg all in lower case (mine wasn't had upper case M and S, got it from my 940) and have jsut run a route in demo mode and it works a treat. |

The mapsettings.cfg we supply in the .zip file is in lower case. How are you guys getting an upper case version? _________________ Darren Griffin |

I used the mapsettings.cfg from my 940. I copied from the TT940 to a folder on the PC, and it saves as MapSettings.cfg, which I transferred to the iphone using Disk Aid, this one worked to a degree taking favourites across but it would not speak out the warnings, or show the speed camera icon in the top left of the screen, after seeing the post earlier I copied another MapSettings.cfg from the 940 and renamed it mapsettings.cfg. I thought I would give it a couple of days before asking for a copy of Mike's cfg. Having seen the post saying use lower case I tried again and it worked fine (in demo mode) will try it in the car on a short run when I fuel up later, I can let you know if it works OK if it is any help? |

Had same problem - the uppercase version is the original I think and must be deleted once your version is installed.
All sounds now work great - Big thank you.
Hope someone can sort out the size of the x2 icon on iPhone 4. |

After a bit of messing about I've got it up and running. Works well on a demo route!
I don't know whether I needed to do it but I only loaded the large icons and I went through the list and stripped out the "_X2" from the end of the name so that they match the .ov2 files.
DiskAid on my Mac kept "unexpectedly quitting" as soon as anything was transferred. Fortunately it only did it once the download was complete. But I had fears of corruption - fortunately unfounded so far.
Also found that Dosk Aid supports "Drag & drop" _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

What I am not too sure about is how the MapSettings.cfg file became all lower case, when it came off the the XL IQ Live it was certainly "MapSettings.cfg" but the file on my iPhone is "mapsettings.cfg" so either the app re-named it after I added a Home location or DiskAid translated the file name as its not something I did knowingly. The files that I have sent by e-mail and are now available from the link in the "How To" on page one were copied from the iPhone after I knew it all worked.
Interesting that its all lower case for the iPhone app when the PDA and PND versions use a mixture of upper and lower case.
SSR I will load up the pMobiles at some point later this week and have a go at getting them working then e-mail the files over, won't be tonight though as eyes are shot after 350 mile drive - Mike |

Thanks chaps for sorting this out. I have disabled the TT cameras but they still display and bleep at me (their accuracy is truly terrible!) - shall I just delete the OV2 files? _________________ Audi S4
