|
|
I use an Apple Macbook Pro running Mac OS X 10.5.8 and I have an iPhone 3GS and a Tom Tom XXL IQ Routes Edition Satnav. I also have Tom Tom Home installed on my Mac. I have subscribed to the Camera database for my iPhone but I wish to use the database on my Tom Tom XXL as well, but I cannot see from the installation instructions on this website for my Tom Tom model whether I can down load to a Mac. It only seems to relate to PC's and Windows OS. Is the Apple OS supported and if where can I find installation instructions for a Mac ?
Thanks.

The download you require is the TomTom (ov2) format in whichever download type you want Speed zoned offers the most comprehensive file set or the Consolidated by type which contains all the same locations but the cameras are not split in their own respective speed related sub categories.
As for using a MAC the only part that will differ from the Windows PC based guide on installation of the files is that you need to use Stuffit to Extract/ unzip the download whereas on a PC you simply use WinZip or WinRar.
TomTom Home isn't needed (thankfully) for the installation of the speed camera database from this site - Mike |

We're all Mac users here at PocketGPSWorld so you can be assured it does work and we would always ensure our service is Mac compatible.
Installation procedures as detailed in our guides are identical on Mac save for minor differences in file/copy operations between Mac and PC.
We do recommend you use The Unarchiver app, rather than the built-in unarchive app. It's free, stable and has a small memory footprint. It can be downloaded here. _________________ Darren Griffin |
