The new app looks very good on the iPhone4, however -- I've copied the speedcam database into the new app folder and while TT1.5 picks up the location for each camera, it no longer picks up the images properly... Each one shows up as a red box. Very odd. If anyone figures a fix I'd be interested in knowing... |

Anyone finding the display to be a little bit too small? The roads look like stalks. Don't get me wrong, I love the new high res graphics, but I'd rather they kept the same scale for the map. |

This used to be the case when the bmp file containing the icon for the Custom POI Category was missing from the current map folder, both the PDA and PND TomTom software used to offer brick red squares for the icons when the bmp was missing, check the bmp files and also their colour depth might be worth looking in to - Mike |

It looks like TT have changed something, reports of this POI issue on other forums too. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hi, Version 1.5 still has major problems with running CamerAlert at the same time. This version is worse than 1.4! Almost unusable on my iPhone 3GS. Anyone else with this issue? _________________ iPhone 3GS 32Gb, OS 4.1, not jailbroken, CoPilot, TomTom, TomTom car kit. |

I'm getting the little red squares instead of the cam logo as well.
EDIT: just read on camera database instructions no alerts possible,it did however work in 1.1? |

No alerts for third party POIs have ever been possible with TomTom iPhone but it was possible to load the database by various means and have the icons appear.
This is broken in v1.5. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Be intresting to see if theres a workround.
I have 1.1 also and just done a route demo on it and it warns on one fixed camera on the database, this was installed BEFORE I added the Pocket GPS database so its a mystery? |

For alerts? There isn't. The work-around is to use our iPhone App, CamerAlert and run it in the background with TT Active.

Not sure I understand? The warning must be from a TT camera? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Can you link my new phone into database please?
EDIT: just realised I can multitask now |

I just read a posting on another forum (electricpig.co.uk) that:
"A little publicised reuirement is that the gps device in the iphone 3gs (and maybe the 4) is that the initial position is determined with a wifi or data connection!!" [sic]
I've just got an iPhone 4. I've been pretty happy with TomTom on my old iPaq 'Travel Companion' for about four/five years but recently it keeps turning itself off so I'm now VERY interested in something for the iPhone 4. I had hoped that when using the iPhone 4 as a GPS I would only need to use the GPS antenna...
Can the above statement be true? Many thanks in advance for any guidance here. |

The iPhone gets the initial fix from the mobile cell but even if there is no signal the GPS eventually finds where it is. It just takes longer. _________________ iPhone 3GS 32Gb, OS 4.1, not jailbroken, CoPilot, TomTom, TomTom car kit. |
