I've found an entry on www.saynoto0870.com, which gives the following entry for TomTom:
"020 7387 5444 Select Option 1 from the 1st menu and press 0 (zero) at the next menu when you are given options to log an issue with TomTom. You are now put through to the same menu that the 0845 number reaches."
Has anybody tried this number? If it works, it may be cheaper on a long call than the usual 0845 number. _________________ Garmin DriveSmart 50 LMT-D |

For Info, I've used this number a couple of times in the last week and can confirm it works fine. |

Just to let you know some of you may be aware that I have had a problem with my 950 since November I am on my 5th replacement unit and been constantly in touch eith them since May.
With the last device that they sent me directly I went through a pain staking process of graqdually using certain functions and not connecting it to my account linked to Home.
I still got occasional reboots, slow updating, frustrating presses on the screen that would either not respond or respond a second later.
The up shot was the other day that they were going to take it back to customer support and run some real world tests on it.
I refused point blank to cooperate any further as I felt I had done far mone that would be expected normally and that I wanted it changed for a 1000. The manager I spoke to said that his boss wouldnt action that without having the device back to test first.
I dug my heels in and asked to speak to his boss, which I did yesterday afternoon. After having my rant with him he has agreed to swap my 950 for a 1000, it may be a couple of weeks after release but it's going to happen.
The problem with the 950 as I see it is that as the Live services are updating more frequently than the 940 and I am led to believe it is using the same processor that those of us who want to use it to its full capapbility with custom poi's etc can't because the unit doesnt have the processing power to cope with everything.
They really dropped a big one with this device, I have bought every upgrade since the Go 500 and this last one is the worst unit they have ever released.
I am now waiting for delivery of my replacement, my advice to anyone who is having the reboot problems, dont just sort it out yourself let them know because they really are not aware of how many people have problems with this device. And dont get fobbed off either, stick to your guns and be firm with them.
If anyone has had big problems and is getting frustrated, PM me and I will give you my contacts who did all they could to help me. |

I'm afraid the words 'frying pan' and 'fire' come to mind. Let's hope that the production model, is far more friendly than the pre-production models reviewed. _________________ Mike R [aka Wyvern46]

To Gnats.........
You're going to REALLY be disappointed with a T1000 if you wish to use custom pois.
You can't on a 1000. _________________ David |

Yes it is an odd solution to a problem. Marginally increase your processing power, and remove some functionality. Works in theory..... _________________ Mike R [aka Wyvern46]

To be honest I will be happy if the device just works, the number of times I have been typing in an address and find that it doesnt pick up a screen tap or it picks up 2 is so frustrating.
The menu system is sluggish and at times unresponsive, but when the HD Traffic isnt working then it works much better.
And why be so tight on hard drive space, I mean with the USA and europe maps on the 950 you have very little space left, I supose that was down try to stop people using it for other things as well.
Or just tight as a ducks re end |
