I know that Swiss camera positions are not included in the Eur camera files, and I understand the reason why this is.
Looking at the database information, it shows that there are details held for 42 different cameras in Switzerland, but I cannot find a database of Swiss cameras for download and use on a Garmin Nuvi.
Or am I just not looking in the right place? |

Besides being illegal.
What are the penalties for getting caught having the Swiss speed camera POI`s on you satnav device?
Likewise I understand having the German ones is also illegal, what are the penalties for getting caught having those?
I doubt I`d burn in hell for eternity for having them, but my Curiosity made me wonder how severe the penalties are being caught in posession of said POI`s

The German ones aren't illegal. The police don't like it and may take action but they are not strictly illegal.
Swiss authorities take it quite seriously. There are reports of fines and impounded vehicles. |

I`d best hide the Zumo while riding over there, or plumb it into the luggage cases |

TBH from Personal experience and that of family members my impression is that our continental cousins play on the general lack of foreign language skills of the English. Coupled with being pulled by intimidating cops on a foreign motorway fines are dished out and paid too easily by the road side.
There seems to be mixed information about Germany. Some sources state it varies from region to region but Switzerland are serious about road safety. Speeding is a very serious crime and they gave out the first fine of over 1 million dollars in august. However the fine isn't calculated on the Crome but the persons wealth. If you look at the spec sheet for the 9100 it says that TT speedcams are preloaded for all the countries except Switzerland and Germany |

Hmm. From what i'd been told the law varied from region to region and wasn't strongly enforced in Germany anyway.

Nope, as far as Swiss Police are concerned, if your device has POI data for Swiss cameras installed, activated or otherwise then you're in deep doo-dooh hence why we removed them.
However, where Germany is concerned, the issue is still far from clear and we are reliably told that the Police have shown no interest in making this an issue, no reports of any fines or Police interest in SatNavs for this reason at all. If that changes then we will review our inclusion of Germany data.

Basically, the device must not CONTAIN any details of speed camera or other traffic controls on Swiss roads. |
